A little razzled, Jan got herself up. "Th-thanks..." "Hmm..." His eye buzzed, scanning the cliffside. He detects biosignatures coming in, several of them"We seem to have company." Looking up, "Wh-what is it?" Over the ledge, a certain species of anthros stand over them, each holding a primitive as they had a stone emotionless look on their faces. "Something we'd find familiar."

"....incredible." She couldn't believe she was seeing more endangered beings around her. Obviously in this era, echidnas are the norm.

"Uh..." Waves a hand slowly, who would have thunk she would meet so many of her own kind like this? "Hel-" The echidnas however pointed their weapons art them, scaring the girl. "At ease men... after all, two of these are part of our, aren't they not?" Stepping forward was a purple echidna.

"Hmm..." The features of this echidna, not only makes him seems like the leader, but similar to Knuckles. Could he be...?

"Much oblige, sir." Zahary politely bowed, as he and Jan were allowed to pass up the rocky slope to the ledge the echidnas stood on. However, two would block Alicia's path, "What about her, sir?" @thunderhawk@ "She is a friend of theirs, it seems. Let her pass." The two exchanged a glance, and removed their spears for the squirrel.

Deciding keeping quiet was the best thing, she said no word as she followed the two echidnas.

@thunderhawk@ "I have to say, I never thought I would see other echidnas out in this part of the world." The purple chief turns to the two newcomers, "I am Thunderhawk, chief of this tribe." "Um, my name is Jan, and I can say we never expected to see others either. Zachary was the first other echidna I've met." "Likewise." The cyborg nodded. @thunderhawk@ Looking up and down at the old man, "I must say, Zachary, you're appearance is most unique. I have never seen ANY living organism that seem have robotic." "Yes, in my travels I have come to learn how unique my mutation was. Not that it bothers me, I have found... many uses for it."

After sometime of walking, the echidnas lead the three to an open valley by the mountains were some huts and tents were set up. Many echidnas wandered the village, most were women, children and elderly, but some were guards who monitored the settlement. "Aw, its so cute!" It reminded her of Knothole. Boy, she hopes Aleena and the others aren't missing her right now.

Quaint, but she wondered if this place was hidden from any electronic detection.

Zachary wondered that too. Though he's getting massive chaos energy here. A hot spot, a very massive one to be exact. Such raw energy seems to be able to shield the village. So, did the echidnas knew this or were they just lucky to settle here? Zachary couldn't care not. What interest him was why this hot spot had such high quantity. Had it to do with their mission here? @thunderhawk@ "All of us hailed from the island the humans called Australia, but upon our evolution, we were all chased away. We've braved the fierce ocean until we made it to this land. The tropical forest grants us the perfect haven. Too savage for the humans without their machinery and the thick plant-life gives us good cover. I take it you three seeking safety away from humanity?" "Not quite. I could protect myself from humans without hiding, but that is moot. We're here on a quest." @thunderhawk@ Turns to the three, "Quest?"

"Yes, one needed for survival." She detected emerald readings within the walls. If these guys were as protective as Knuckles, then it's best not to be blunt.

@thunderhawk@ "Survival, huh? Not a surprise, in this world all anthros are looking to keep on living." "Indeed. Although we already have a haven of our own, we're looking for... a way of keeping it safe."

So please get to the point. She's dying to see what lies behind these mountain walls. This...Emerald Mine Aleena talked about...?

@thunderhawk@ "Do enlighten me on your 'method' for coming here, then." "Of course. We have detected a unique powersource in the area. One that I'm sure both our parties can find useful." @thunderhawk@ "Is that so?" "Indeed. With it, we'll be able to protect ourselves from any human threat and others that may appear."

@thunderhawk@ "Perhaps." The echidna replied. "We have noticed how humans never come around here, despite our camp is almost in the opening. Perhaps it might be best if we do investigate this powersource, it might do us better if we knew more of it."

"Hmph." Strange how humans don't come around here. Maybe because in this era, they don't understand Chaos Energy yet, so they haven't detected the Chaos source, yet.

"We've detected the signature within the mountains. However, it'll much time if we dig, even with all of us." @thunderhawk@ The purple echidna nodded. "Agreed. We might need to take a shortcut through the mine." "Mine?"

@thunderhawk@ "Just enough to know why the humans have deserted it; Its a death trap, there are cave-ins the deeper one goes and air thins out." Thunderhawk steps up, "But if what you say it true, then we must brave through such hazards. Come, I'll lead you to the entrance."

@thunderhawk@ With a small group of echidnas, Thunderhawk lead the three to the mine as promised. "Here it lies. We have no idea how deep these cavern goes, I hope this exploration won't be for nothing." Zachary taken a moment to scan the area, "Don't worry, I detect the energy. This will do us fine."
