Flickies Island - Time for Work

A couple of hours had passed since Sonic and the others had headed off for Christmas Island to perform the play...



...and currently, Tails was inside of his new work chambers, working on some kind of contraption. His gaze showed impeccable focus on his work, leaving little attention towards anything else in the room; like the device to his side where Fiona would be residing...



...or the Metallix that had been leaning against the wall for some time as he just kept his arms folded. "Hey."



"GAH!" And cue him falling off balance the moment the Metallix spoke to him. "M-Metal?! How long have you been there?"



"Maybe an hour... edging on two." With a shrug, Metal walked over to help Tails back on his seat. "You sure you should be working like that? You might break something."



"...I'll be fine." With a small hum, Tails returned his attention towards what he was building. "I'm still waiting on getting to talk to Blaze about helping me with the workshop, so I might as well be productive for now..."



"By sitting inside on a lovely day like this, tinkering with tools." Metal remarked with a droll hum. "You could be practicing with the gifts I got you earlier."



"...actually... I'm working on something like that to work around four of them." Tails mused. "Four laser guns isn't gonna be practical to wield all together, so I'm getting something together that could help with that..."



"...and what about the sword?" he remarked as he folded his arms. "I doubt that even your intellect encompasses the art of swordfighting. You need practice if you want to use that."



Tails fell silent, as he just kept working on his contraption. His expression did show that he seemed thoughtful about it.

Then suddenly on the shores...a magical portal appeared, which someone walked through.

Since the nurses deemed her fit to leave, they allowed her to go. Honestly, Flicky Island was the only place Jill thought to go...

Immediately, his sensors detected the new life-form that appeared. "...visitors."



"Huh?" Tails perked; having expected someone like Fiona to be the first to tell him.



"I'll see who it is. In the meantime, think about getting some actual experience in." With those words, he just poofed out of the room.



With a small breath, he rubbed his temples a bit, before he got back to work...

And then, on the shore, he appeared, folding his arms as he saw the visitor. "...oh, it's you."

She turned and saw the metallix. "Oh, Metal. Do you know where Aleena went?"

[YolkaEd]

He shrugged. "Off doing Aleena-things, most likely. All I know is that she didn't follow Sonic for his circus act."

[JC303]

"...what?" Jill was a little confused on what Metal meant by Sonic's "circus act." After all, she hadn't really been part of the loop of everything that was going on.

[YolkaEd]

"Long story. One that involves messing with time, president mammoths and Sonic technically being considered legible for arrest because he's a menace. You know, the usual."

[JC303]

"...erm...well, I suppose I'll take your word for it," Jill muttered. Then she looked around. "What is everyone else doing?"

[YolkaEd]

"Well, some are joining Sonic for his circus act, others are doing their own thing..." Metal hummed, glancing to the side. "...Prower is working on something..."

[JC303]

"...I see..." And she looked away, fidgeting awkwardly.

[YolkaEd]

Noticing that, the Metallix glanced at her curiously. "...what is it?" he hummed.

[JC303]

She looked back at Metal. "You, um...wouldn't happen to know where Brick is, would you?"

[YolkaEd]

He shrugged in response. "Can't say that I do, no." he answered.

[JC303]

She became a little sad then, looking away. "Oh...okay then....thanks anyway..." And she turned to walk away.

[YolkaEd]

"...hey, hold on." Metal quickly chimed, as he folded his arms. "Since you're here... I think you might be of some help."

[JC303]

She stopped and looked at him with a couple of blinks. "Really?"

[YolkaEd]

He nodded. "If I'm not mistaken... you have some skill with the sword, yes?"

[JC303]

"A little," Jill answered. "...why?"

[YolkaEd]

Metal folded his arms with a light nod. "Good. Then if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to ask you to give Prower a bit of training."

[JC303]

"Um, Tails right?" Jill asked. Them she nodded. "...sure. I can train him."

[YolkaEd]

"...you know, I was expecting a bit of resistance there." Metal remarked dryly, before he shrugged. "But I guess this works, too. A moment, please." And he warped away...

...before returning moments later, tossing someone onto the sand.



With a surprised cough as he landed face-first in the sand, Tails got to his feet. "What was that for?"



Neo didn't answer right away, as he first warped off again, then reappeared; tossing the sword hilt that Rodin had given him earlier over to Tails. "It's far too nice weather outside for you to sit inside, tinkering with toys. Have fun." With those words, he walked off.



With a small hum, Tails picked up the sword hilt just to look at it, before he even noticed Jill standing there. "...oh, hey, Jill. You're fully healed?"

"...oh, yes, I am," Jill answered, still surprised at how Metal tossed Tails to the ground like that. "...anyway, Metal asked me to train you using a sword."

[YolkaEd]

"...he did?" Tails groaned, rubbing his head a little. "...I'm sorry, I don't know what's gotten into him... asking you to do something like that so suddenly..." He breathed out. "...look, if you don't want to do it, I understand; you don't have to if you don't want to, after all."

She smiled. "Oh don't worry. I'm fine with it." Then she closed her eyes. "...besides, I need to get my mind off some things anyway, and having something to do helps."

Hearing that, Tails fell silent.

"...yeah... I guess you're right." With a small sigh, he turned around to look at Jill. "So... you'll help me train a little? Thanks..." He looked down at the sword hilt again, before giving Jill another nod.
