When the ancient city has became ruins in the Land of Darkness, Empire City was rebuilt, almost identical.
The city was full of busy streets as people driving to and from work or going to see the near by tourists attractions. There was even more people walking through the streets in business suits or people with their family.
In the city, it was a big thing for parents to by their young children a toy doll to be a sign of a first friend. This young boy was being brought to a toy store by his mother to buy him his own doll, he was about 3 years old.
They walked in and the boy quickly looked at the stock of toys they had in the shelves. "I can have any one?" The boy asked his mother.
"Any one you want." She smiled at patted his head.
The boy was looking though the collection of dolls in front of himself. He then spotted the one that he wanted the most. It was a doll of green bird with a top hat. The boy turned and pulled his mom's arm who then looked at her son and knelled down to see what he wanted.
"It right here mommy......" He then turned back to see the doll was gone. He looked in the spot where the bird doll was to see it was gone leaving a gap of were doll was. He was that there was 3 red glows coming from he back of the shelf.
He then reached in a grabbed hold of a dolls arm. It was then he felt something connection with him like a shock through his arm, but he still dragged the doll out to find out it was a doll of a two tailed fox with a rod coming from hits head. The boy held onto the dolls hand tight.
"Will you be my playmate?" The doll say in a childish voice that sounded so innocent it was creepy.
"Is that the one you want?" The mother asked her son.
"Yes!" He said as he felt a instant connection with the doll.
The mom then bought to doll for her son and left the store with the boy hugging the doll and having the doll's arms and head over his shoulder. The Boy and his mom would then walk past a green hedgehog who seemed to be in front of a open vending machine full of pops while he held a crowbar.
He held a can of pop and then jugged it all down all at once. "Nothing is petter than a free root beer.....Then again" He would see a girl down the sidewalk he was on who caught his eye but then quickly turn to see the young boy with the Tails doll.
The doll would then lift his head to wards Scourge and tilt it, then he would raise one of his arms and wave at him with out the boy noticing.
"What the?"

Yesterday was hetic for Rotor. He was the few that remembered what happened, but he rather not mention it to his friends, like Mina here...
Mina decided to let bygones be bygones. Though she finally met Sonic but failed to at least talk to him, she figured it'll never happen. She's so shy, her feet will literally freeze on ice.
Meanwhile, outside, Aleena ported on a rooftop. ".....sheesh..." Sometimes coming here...it felt like she was home...and yet she wasn't. Many cities were rebuilt, centuries after the Great War. Empire City was an obvious replica of New York City...minus the Statue of Liberty. 
"Hm..." she smirked. It was....still strange to have a human apologize to an anthro...like they have equal rights as humans do. There were still sometimes Aleena couldn't believe life like this was real, and she been stuck in the mortal plane for over 4000 years. But enough of this bliss...
"Hm...." Finding herself in an alley, Sally looked up at the buildings outside of it...for they looked like those of New York. "Did it work?"
Brick sighed, "Ah, civilization."
Jill didn't recognize the place they came to; considering she didn't get around very much. "Where are we?"
