MP: 10
Personality: Griff is quite loyal to the group of Freedom Fighters that he was once a part of; Mostly to the leader of the group, Aleena, and his closest friend, Rob. He always wants to do what right and thinks mostly of the greater good, not really making the smartest choices sometimes. There are times if things are dire, that Griff will result to doing things outside of his character in desperation. He is smooth with the ladies; in a gentlemanly way, not in a sleazy way; and he's also a good liar if need be. But he truly is a good person and believes deeply in fighting only for the greater good; such as peace between humans and Mobians.
Like Rob, he too, tends to keep secrets from the group, but Griff kept more secrets than Rob, and he never told anyone; not even his own friend.
Alike his comrades, he's strong, determined, especially about his beliefs, and is willing to do anything in order to accomplish their goals, probably due to Aleena's expectations of them. He is also kind, merciful and compassionate when it comes down to it, a trait that has even passed down to someone else in his line.
History: When the Freedom Fighters first met Griff, they were in the middle of a fight against the human military in order to defend innocent Mobians from being captured; taking place long before the New York incident in rescuing captured Mobians such as Theo Acorn. Seeing that they were in need of an escape route, Griff was more then obliged to help, taking them out of there in a jiffy. He then took the Freedom Fighters to a hidden medieval village up on the summit of a mountain called Mt. Solitude; one of the most peaceful retreats to the Mobians and unknown to the humans.
Being smooth with the ladies, Griff manages to get Aleena to tell him about the Chaos Emeralds, with Rob's suspicious eye on him. When it was time, Griff returned the Freedom Fighters to Knothole village, but in the middle of the night, he stole the Chaos Emerald that they had in possession, and he takes off back to his village in hopes to use it against a menace that was threatening his village; something that he failed to tell the Freedom Fighters. When the menace did come, Griff only found out that he couldn't use the Chaos Emerald the way he wanted to, and just as the village would be doomed, Aleena comes to the rescue in the nick of time.
They found out about what Griff had did, and he apologizes for it. Aleena then tells him to think norhing of it; that it was just their job as Freedom Fighters, and she even forgave Griff for using her...barely. Anyhow, wanting to make up for it, Griff offered to lend his arm to the group, and thus he became another Freedom Fighter.
Anyway, he and Rob became close friends surprisingly, and Griff was the only one who Rob had told of the dreams with Aleena from the Oracle; but the goat was severely sworn to secrecy.
When the Metarex came, and when Aleena had sacrificed herself to stop the war, the Freedom Fighters went their separate ways. They questioned Griff why he chose to stay by Rob's side, even after he had hidden secrets from them, but Griff only ignored their questions.
In reality, Griff had dreams of his own that no one knew, not even Rob.
The Oracle was once again responsible for the dreams, but Griff's dreams were about Rob. As a matter of fact, they weren't just about Rob; the visions stretched much, much farther in the future, seeing many things that Griff could never comprehend at first. "Stay loyal to him," the Oracle told him in every dream. "Even if the Freedom Fighters depart for their own reasons, you must stay by his side." And so Griff lived by this, serving as a Knight under the Kingdom of Mercia. Because of this, he grew to be quite wise and calm, even in the most extreme of emergencies, which brought Griff up to be one of the most respectable Knights known. Since Aleena had kindly built Rob's kingdom at the top of Mt. Solitude, near Griff's village, he was able to marry a young girl there who he had known his whole life, and she gave birth to a son.
It was a golden, prosperous age for the Kingdom of Mercia...
...but it didn't last long.
When the fell wind blew, Griff felt it in the last of his foreseeing dreams. A darkness that overtook the Kingdom of Mercia and it would destroy everything. And when the time came, all the Knights of Mercia tried to fight it, but none prevailed. All it left were Rob and Griff, and it would seem that all hope had been lost. However, Griff finally told Rob of the one thing that they could do to save the Kingdom which was revealed to him in the dream; poetic justice for his secretive King.
Griff led Rob to a sacred shrine that was hidden in the depths of the forest summit, and by the power of their bonding powers with a spell, their powers combined to summon a great power...
It is unknown what great power they summoned, but it destroyed the great evil and saved the people of Mercia.
But there were much in the terms of consequence. The Kingdom of Mercia crumbled into non-existence, and it required Rob and Griff to offer their lives in sacrifice to perform the spell. Rob's spirit remained to act as a holy guardian of his own former kingdom. This power they summoned created a barrier around the village that obscured the power of Chaos, becoming an untainted sanctuary.
As for Griff, it is unknown, even what became of his spirit. His fate was expected to be the same as Rob's, but it would seem that Rob never saw his dear friend again.
There are no written records of this, as the great power they summoned had erased all evidence of that time, allowing this to become legend, and eventually, be forgotten; only to ensure the harmony of the village.
And so, for Griff's sake, Rob watched over the village, also watching as Griff's son had a son of his own, and watched as the bloodline progressed. A strange thing Rob notices is that each generation in Griff's line gives birth to an only child.
Rob did this, mostly because he believed that Griff wasn't just gone in the after-life. He believed that somehow, somewhere, Griff's spirit had a role to play as well as him, and the only reason that could support that notion was the spell that bound their destinies together.
Rob watched Griffs families until finally, the line reaches to a certain ewe who has taken the liking to archery, where Rob's intuition picks up an unusual air to the girl, and the feeling of an omen.
Then everything begins...
