Name: Scratch and Grounder
Nickname: "Dumbots" (At least the only one I can remember...)
Age: Unknown for either. Chronologically they are over
Gender: Both are technically genderless, but male.
Species: Robot
Affiliation: Dark
Description:
Status: Failed Government Experiments
Location: Unknown
Abilities:
Scratch can’t do much. He is capable of pecking foes, with the pecking more like a woodpecker. He is also said to be the smartest of the badniks, which doesn't say much for the badniks in general. After all, his IQ is only 40, which says enough about the rest of them. Though being the prototype, this was a big step in A.I. technology back then. Now, he’d be a piece of junk.
While Scratch seems to be the brains, Grounder is the artillery - his robot body is filled with accessories, which switch usually in his drill hands with any number of weapons or tools, stores assorted equipment (commonly, a telephone) in his torso and even has the components of a Swiss Army knife installed in his tongue.
Whenever either of them are broken apart, they were designed to know how to fix themselves or each other in order to continue whatever objective is expected without failure.
Weakness:
They can easily be outsmarted. Not to mention that they can't function in tight situations.
POW Move:
Super Cannon: Grounder's MP and PP are combined and his arm will transform into a cannon that he can fire at his disposal. He can only fire his cannon twice, whether it be two in one post, or two posts.
Chaos Ability: Scientists have not discovered a way to harness Chaos Energy, so they weren't built with any Chaos Abilities.
Character Stats:
Scratch:
PP: 9
LP: 9
MP: 3
Grounder:
PP: 9
LP: 2
MP: 9
Personality:
Scratch can get very impatient with Grounder most of the time due to their difference in smarts, but despite the fact that Scratch is the smarter one of the group, the two of them are quite gullible; clumsy too. They're both very arrogant or egotistcal, bent on impressing the scientists and General Ganite, even though they fear the General a great deal.
Being a chicken, Scratch panics in tight situations. Most of the time, Grounder will be mellow in the same situations, because he won't really understand the urgency of the problem. They're both incredibly racist towards the Anthros; a personality that rubbed off from Granite; so they ESPECIALLY hate Aleena. When they want to be, the two of them can also be very vicious, cold-blooded killers, probably due to the fact they were highly involved in the military...
But neither of them is too bold to stand up against Granite when they're getting a scolding from the General. Its fear that ties them to follow the General, rather than loyalty, as they would be seen fleeing the scene of battle when things are bad, leaving Granite to suffer the blow.
History:
These two were the prototypes, the first “Badniks” ever created, as the current Mobian term would be, thanks to the genius of Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik. Back when Earth existed, the American Government underwent a top secret experiment where the government built highly advanced A.I. robots in order to capture the Anthros (Mobians), or so they thought. This even required the help of Russian and Chinese government as well...
Scratch was the first one created, though why he was designed like a chicken was unknown. His creation being successful, scientists continued the project in order to mass produce Scratch, but due to an accident, Grounder was created. Instead of mass producing more, however, they instead decided to test these two prototype Badniks on their performance in Anthro capture. Quite a number of times have these two aided General Ganite, and most of the time they successfully have captured the Anthros.
That is…until they encountered Aleena the Hedgehog.
Aleena, being the first Anthro that the two couldn’t capture, was then their main objective. Whether or not they could capture Aleena would determine how successful they were as prototypes, but unfortunately, they have always failed to catch the girl.
They have failed so much that Granite grew tired of their “incompetence,” and the scientists had to shut them down and try to fix the flaws in their programming. Strangely enough, before they could be finished, the project itself was shut down for unknown reasons, and thus, the two were locked up in slumber and forgotten.
It is also said that they weren't the only AIs created, as there were records of a "Coconuts the Monkey" in the AI archives in the Government database. Though it is unknown whatever became of the monkey AI, as that data was lost.
Though after 4000 years later, they were somehow reawakened…
