"Two years ago, a mysterious comet crashed right in southern Australia, unleashing a massive shockwave that wash over the entire planet. No damage had been made since the day of the comet, but the energies made an extensive change in the biological department. Most wild animals were in contact with the shockwave and resulted in a mutated change."
The night was dark; bitch black for any person to see in the rainy forest. Not unless the person had any source of light, like someone in a jeep...along with a group of jeeps driving behind it.
"Many of the animals changed into monstrous beings that had reported attacking towns, and even killing citizens. One was identified as a hulking fox that demolished an apartment building, killing half the residents there. The people nicknamed this beast as Titan."
Still a mile away, as the jeeps drove down the muddy path, the passengers prepared their gear. Some assembled rifles, loading them with ammo.
"However, some animals, later on, mutated into humanoid forms, with intelligence matching of a human."
"Ack! Turn that tube off, would ya, Rob-o?" said a elderly Scottish voice.

"Pardon me, I apologize for that," replied the green hedgehog in the hood that bore an English accent, turning off the TV. There was a young teenage girl standing by a window nearby, looking outside of it in daydream. She couldn't believe most of what was happening...especially that; turning her eyes to the hedgehog that got up from in front of the TV. Could that really be possible? Mutating radiation that could increase the intelligence of mammals?

And just a half-a mile away, the jeeps drove over a small stone bridge, shining their headlights ahead of the road.

"To think," the girl finally spoke, "that you used to be just a regular animal..." "It may be strange to you," Rob said, "but this is hardly fair the way you humans treat us. We're looked upon as barbaric beasts as far as your Government is concerned." "Well that's the American Government," the girl groaned. "They've been corrupted since after the Spanish-American war." "I beg your pardon?" The girl rolled her eyes. "The Americans are such a power-driven country, and they're only afraid of their power being taken away by anthro mutants like yourself." "I do take offense to that, you know," Rob replied, giving the girl a sour look.

"Now, Shelly, what the bloody 'ell you doing up so late?" the elder man grumbled, trying to get off his lazy chair. Bald, with white hairs over his ears, the man wore just a red bath robe. Obviously, he looked like he just woke up. "You...go on to your room, and shut your eyes, lassie."

"Grandpa Angus," moaned the girl referred to as Shelly, "I don't wanna sleep...besides, I'm not tired." Ironically, a yawn immediately followed afterward. Getting a stern look from the old man, she sighed, "Alright, fine..." As she got up to go, however, she snatched Rob by the arm. "But only if he comes with me!" she said. "Wha--?!" Rob wasn't at all expecting that.

"As long as you get to bed, lassie," shrugging, the old slowly turned and walked away the living room.

Shelly then smiled at Rob. "C'mon. You're probably tired too, and you need rest more then I do." "Now that I think on it, I am a bit drowsy..." said Rob, yawning. Shelly led Rob out of the living room and up stairs into the next floor, where all the bedrooms are. "I can set up a place for you to sleep in my room," she said. Rob looked at her rather...questioningly. It had been a few hours ago, and Rob wasn't really sure much of what happened, but he was lost in that forest not too distant from this house. This girl just so happened to be wandering around the forest earlier this evening, and happened upon him by accident. Rob expected her to scream at the sight of him and run away, but she stayed instead. In fact, she took poor Rob into her house so he wouldn't catch an pneumonia from the rain. She was one of the first humans that actually offered hospitality. "Why are you doing this?" he asked her, due to his thoughts. "What do you mean?" she asked, as she was opening the door to her room. "Why do you help someone...well, shall we say, different than you?" Rob asked. "Might I add very different."

"What the blazes?" muttered old man Angus when he heard loud motor noises getting closer, outside. Beaming lights shined through the windows out in the front.
Heck, there was even a helicopter noise above.

Both Rob and Shelly stopped silent up in her room, hearing strange noises coming from outside all of a sudden. Shelly went to her window and opened the curtain slightly. Then she shut the curtain again with a gasp. "They're here!" "WHA-?!" Rob shouted, though as soon as he did that, he was cut off with a hand clamped over his mouth. "Shh!" she shushed frantically.

BAM!!!
The moment the door was kicked down, a squad of men in dark military suits stormed in, all armed with large firearms. One of them stared down at the old man, keeping him in silence while the rest scattered around the house. Even two climbed the stairs.

They're coming for him... she thought frantically. They're really going to take him away... "Don't fear," Rob said, as a ray of light flashed in his hand. Then this ray of light became a golden bow just as the light faded away. But Shelly only snatched him up in her arms, and before Rob knew it, they withdrew into her closet with her shutting the door behind them. "What are you--?!" "SHHHHHH!" Shelly shushed harshly, looking now as if she was picking at the wall with her fingers. Rob would find a piece of the wall pop out easily, revealing a way into a very dark attic. "Quick, get in there!" she said, as she shoved him through the opening, and then climbed in herself as she reset the piece back into the wall. "If we hide in here then maybe they won't find us," Shelly whispered.

The troops kicked the door off its henges before storming in. Searching around, one manage to flip the bed over just to search for their targets. And once even searched the closet, finding nothing. "He's not here!" one announced before they all left the room.
Miles away, a being that wore white shoes raced across the moist forest with such swiftness.

"It won't do us any good remaining in here, they will eventually find us," Rob said, as he was sure that the men were gone. At first, he didn't get a response from Shelly, and turning to look, she wasn't beside him. She was across the attic, peeling at the wall again for another opening to appear, but this one looked like an air shaft. "They're going to tear this house inside out looking for you; they're that sure that you're here," she said breathlessly. "And my poor grandpa..." "Shelly?" Rob approached her, with concern about her behavior. And the closer he got, the more he realized that Shelly was crying. "We have to get you out of here," she said, gritting her teeth to keep from crying any farther then she already was. "We have to get you out of here before..." "Shelly, please," Rob said, trying his best to comfort her as he set a hand on her shoulder, "you mustn't."

"Where is the hedgehog, old man!" one of the troops roared to the elder. "Eh? What?" spoke Angus, holding a hand over his ear. "Speak up, sonny; my ears ain't what it used to be." "I SAID, THE HEDGEHOG!!!" "Egg-hogs? Sorry, we ate those for dinner." "Arrrgh!!" the man pointed, sharply, toward the door. "Get him out of here!!! Bring him to the van!" Meanwhile, fiery streaks stormed across the dark roads, nearly zipping through an incoming truck. The truck barely made a spinning skid, sliding off the road when the fire streak raced by.

Shelly wiped her eyes with a sniffle, before taking Rob by the shoulders. "I won't fit, but you will," she said. "And what of you and your grandfather?" Rob asked her. "Those men will surely--" "Grandpa will be fine, he's a Vietnam veteran," she said, "and I'm old enough to handle myself." Rob just looked at her still. This girl was strange, but..."still, why do you do this?" he asked, repeating his earlier question. Shelly just closed her eyes. She knew of all the trouble that she was going to get into for doing this; her grandpa probably knew too. Then again, he was too old to even remember what he had for breakfast, which would plainly explain the reasons that she had to take care of him in his old age. But she didn't care about the trouble; she was even ready for any consequences that would happen for this. She was no warrior, or solder, but by God, she was going to act like one. She opened her eyes, looking at Rob in all seriousness with bloodshot eyes from her crying. "Because," she said. "You and your animal friends are a miracle. Not abominations, not freaks, not anything, but a miracle that deserves to survive. Who knows where that comet came from or whatever energy turned you into this, but it was something that happened out of our control, and its not up to any government of ours on this entire planet to decide your lives." Fairly strong words for a girl, even if she was a little naive by the sound of it. Rob only regarded her a nod of good respect. "I know this," he replied to her, "but I thank you for your brief hospitality, and your understanding. Maybe someday, all humans can see us the way you do." He pulled himself from her, and before leaving; "I shall write if I am able," he said with a salute. Then he slipped into the air shaft, and soon, was gone out of sight. It was just about then, that Shelly had turned to witness the opening from her bedroom being pried open, and the blinding ray from her room struck her down with the silhouette of a solder. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Meanwhile, Rob found himself popping out of a vent from outside, coming into the backyard from behind a few bushes. Hardly any were back here, since most of them were in the house and around the front. However, he remained in the bushes while cautiously peering around to see if it was all clear... And if things come to worse, he had his bow ready.

"Freeze!!!" some roared, as Rob would hear numerous guns cackling.
Yes, even in the bushes, Rob wouldn't be stealthy from the troops as they aimed at the hedges. Now how did they know he was there? Well, they had trained hounds, armed to the vicious teeth. Yes, there were some animals that weren't effected by the comet.

"Oh buggar..." uttered Rob to himself in defeat. It looked like he was surrounded to. He could handle the humans, but the dogs were even bigger then him, and being how vicious they were, Rob wouldn't stand a chance if they decided to sick them on him. So he cautiously stepped out of the hedges to them, with his hands up in the air. I guess it seems her so-called "sacrifice" was in vain, he thought.

"Hands behind your-AAARGH!!!"
All the men, and even the dogs were knocked away by something blasting, sharply by. A trail of fire followed by, cutting between Rob and the hunter troops.

Rob jumped in surprise by this. However thankful he was for being saved by some mysterious power, naturally he was bewildered by it. But that gave him the chance to draw his bow out and while he ran away from them, he shot a couple arrows at them. oh crap, I just realized this doesn't have the dice feature ^^;

But by passing away from the house, a couple of soldiers from the front heard of the sounds from the back and spotted the cyan hedgehog.
"There he is!!! FIRE!!" one shouted as they trained their rifles at him. Rob would hear the uncomforting sounds of the rapid guns...
...but their fire aimed away from his direction, for that fire streak again plowed the troops. One even flew far into the trees, ahead.

But suddenly, Rob would hear the familiar sounds of a helicopter...well, if he learned of them. Being an Anthro, most are still unfamiliar with human culture. But anywho, flying from over the trees... Was indeed a battle copter...a AH-64D Apache Longbow to be precise. Piloting was a fighter pilot, but along with him was a interesting looking man with an egg-shaped head. This military being wore standard green military uniform, but with some badges indicating he's of a higher rank. He also wore a black spandex pants, and had blue spectacles and a large bushy beard. "Sir," said the pilot. "The hedgehog has been spotted." stating the hooded hedgehog down ahead. "Fine, fire the net-shot, but keep your eyes peeled on the ' bigger' hedgehog." "Yes sir," he responded, targeting rob on the radar. The copter let a missile loose at Rob from under one of its wings. But unlike the usually exploding ones, this one will erupt a sticky kind of substance. [dice=6] [rand=50505490849877890887308546856526706911553514530613177434128677349]

[dice=6] "Oh my!" Rob said, finding himself stuck to the ground by this super glue. No matter how much he tried to yank his feet, they would not budge. It was no use loosening his boots either, for his feet would just get stuck as well. In defeat, he stared at the copter overhead.[rand=21147373701510136296469359981024899899317624310329681003980590326]

"Target has been neutralized." the pilot announced on his radio. "Squadron, proceed to extract target to home base." A sinister grin, the general made. However, he won't be satisfied until the main- BANG!!! "AAAAGH!!!" the rattling hurt so much, it was like his brain kept banging on the walls of his skull. But yes, the copter received a vicious hit that made it shake and spin out of control. "What was that?! Pilot, take-" BANG!!! "AAAAAAGH!!!!" If Rob were to watch, he would...or may not see what was hitting the copter. It moved as fast as a bullet, making dents around the copter. But thankfully, the attack copter hovered away from his area, helplessly sailing over the house in smoke.
