Name:
Adam Grizzly
Nickname:
Adam the Grizzly
"Bigfists McGee"
Age:
18
Gender:
Male
Species:
Grizzly Bear
Affiliation:
Heroic-Neutral
Description:
(Picture coming!)
Adam is a fairy tall Grizzly Bear with a wide upper body, brown scruffy fur, blue eyes, and abnormally large hands. (Even for Sonic standards.) His attire consists of a plaid overshirt, a worn pair of blue jeans, a belt with a large and rounded buckle, and a pair of light brown gloves.
Status:
Freelancer, Vigilante (Of sorts.)
Location:
Hill Top Zone
Abilities:
Adam bears quite a bit in the muscle department. Ever since having witnessed Robotnik's revamp of his home during the events of Sonic 2, he worked diligently to beef himself up to the point where he could smash any Badnik that tried to move in on his territory. ...As well as a boulder or two. ...And some less-durable metals. ...Also...well, you get the picture; he's a fuzzy tank. As well as this, his abnormally-large hands are actually some of the most difficult bones in his body to break, as opposed to the norm where they'd be the weakest.
In terms of combat training, he hasn't had any serious heavy-duty tutoring. What he's received in the ways of battle instruction amount to having practiced boxing and being the champion of Hill Top's Wrestling Tourny that is held yearly. This means he's good when it comes to throwing punches and throwing guys around, which serves its purpose when it matters most.
Finally, he can absorb Gold Rings. Much like any other creature that can, gathering rings boosts his stamina and strength by some degree, giving for a much safer passage into any manner of conflict.
Weakness:
Adam's something of a mighty glacier. That is, he's strong as an ox,but he is pretty dang slow. He can jump around quite a bit with what leg strength he possesses, but that isn't saying much. This means that, for many a fight, it'd be a matter of catching the enemy off-guard long enough to wind up and hammer them into the dirt.
Speaking of leg strength, ask him what his kicking ability is, and he might as well respond with "what's a kick?". Seriously, if you're looking for fancy footwork, this...is not your guy.
Finally, he's nervous around girls. Yes, you think a big dude like him would be a bit more confident, but not so when it comes to women--especially the more "developed" ones. ...Well, he is a guy, but at the same time wants to maintain a more gentlemanly demeanor, so this can lead to him becoming a frozen, stuttering mess.
POW Move:
Shaking Things Up - Adam can rip up a chunk of ground, an old tree, a street sign, etc. Basically, he weaponizes part of the environment and uses it in continued battle. There are three types of weaponizing he can pull of:
"Kid's Gloves" - He wears what he weaponizes over his hands, making his punches stronger.
"Batter Up" - Adam uses a long, hard object as a melee weapon or a club.
"Rock n' Roll" - The bear uses what he weaponizes to ensnare or attach to his foe, making grappling attacks much easier as a result.
When weaponizing, his LP raises to 8, But his PP lowers to 9. As well as this, he cannot combine forms of weaponization, nor can he use the ability when there's nothing to work with--say, in a level area like a desert plain, or in an enclosed space without anything to grab at.
Chaos Ability:
Chaos Grenade - When he is channeling the energy of a Chaos Emerald, Adam can shoot fiery globes of Chaos Energy from his fist when he punches at an enemy. These orbs, as the name implies, are explosive, and the blast radius has the potential to disorientate a foe...though it's much more effective when they are not flesh and blood.
Character Stats:
PP: 10
LP: 6
MP: 5
Personality:
Adam is, for the most part, a soft-spoken if not a bit gruff country boy. His interests are pretty much anything he can get out of everyday life without need for technological interference, such as fishing, hiking, tussling with his friends and climbing mountains. He doesn't't mind technology, and he does recognize full well its benefits. Regardless, he's uncomfortable being surrounded by it. Understandable, considering his first exposure to it was a horde of violent robots.
He likes to play the gentleman, the sheriff. As such, he speaks softly to ladies and kindly to other guys. However, when he's in the presence of an enemy or an antagonist, he doesn't even bother trying to play nice with them. As he says often, "a lady acts proper, and a gentleman minds his manners. You don't do either, you might as well be scum". He speaks in a slight western drawl, completing the idea of the country fella goodie-goodie like you'd see in the old western movies. Of course, he's conformed to this persona for the sake of the local folk's emotional security and trust.
History:
When Adam was a child living in Hill Top Zone, he one day strayed from home when he had seen a red glow coming from a deep crevice. Being a curious little bear, he decided to investigate such an unusual thing. It took him the entire afternoon to climb down, but he eventually made it to the source of the glow: a strange, red gemstone which was half-buried in the moist earth. Seeing as it was a pretty gem and his parents might be proud of him for finding something so rare, Adam decided to take it home. ...However, the moment he tried to pick it up, he is shocked brutally by a bolt of energy from the gem. Frightened and confused as to why he wasn't in serious pain, Adam hid in a nearby cave to calm his nerves.
However, right when he had decided he'd worry his folks to death if he lingered any longer and began to leave the cave, an army of bizarre, metallic creatures ran amok, going after many if not all of his friends and taking them away as well as stirring up latent volcanic activity in the region, causing areas to be flooded by magma from underground. Not sure why this was happening and not wanting the evil machines to get him, Adam cowered in the cave longer. This trend continued for several days, until the next day...the robots began to disappear. Slowly but surely, over the course of a single day, the evil creatures were virtually wiped out! Venturing from the cave, Adam saw the cause to the end of his nightmare: a blue hedgehog boy and a two-tailed orange fox, both looking a bit younger than himself. He continued to observe from a distance, witnessing their battle against the robots' mustachioed ringleader Dr. Robotnik (Who they teasingly called Eggman, he didn't get it) and finally headed home after they had gone and broken the capsule where his friends had been imprisoned after being caught.
Things for Adam...didn't go so hot after that. His mother and father were outright furious he had gone running off on his own, that he could have gotten caught and so on and all that. He had tried to show them the gem that he had left to go see...but it was no longer there. All there was in its place was two sets of footprints heading off into the distance. So, for a few months, Adam was ridiculously sheltered by his parents, not trusting him to even play with his friends unsupervised. However, he still sneaked around every so often to play with his friends, them eventually developing a sort of sports group that practiced wrestling and boxing. (Because, in their opinion, they were the manliest sports.) However, his folks found out about this. Fed up, they decided that they were going to move away from Hill Top, maybe get a job at Chemical Plant. Adam, however, adamantly refused to leave. If that hedgehog boy could face danger when he was even younger, why couldn't he, as a larger boy and an even physically stronger species? His parents, however, simply said he was making up stories. That was the straw that broke the camel's back; Adam said then and there that he wasn't leaving, that they could run like cowards if they wanted, and he would be even better on his own or with his friends then he would ever be with them. On sound punch from his father later, he was officially disowned, and his parents left the cabin they had been living in for good.
Flash forward a few years later. Oh, it's an attack from Eggman's robots...again. Nobody's really worried. Why? Because Adam's been training himself to be the toughest guy in Hill Top and succeeded, that's why - and he don't take kindly to robots 'round these parts. He and his buddies essentially became Hill Top's task force, going around and smashing apart any foreign, malicious entity that would threaten their humble home, in addition to making their little wrestling matches into a celebrated competition. In building on his upper body strength, over the years Adam's hands grew oddly large and solid, and he could absorb Gold Rings to increase his stamina and build strength. He attributes these gained oddities to that red gem he found years ago, which he has learned from a local is called a "Chaos Emerald". His buddies are always saying that he should strike out on his own, find out more about that emerald and be a big-shot hero rather than just the local sheriff. However, Adam continues to say he's perfectly content staying in the countryside...or...so he says, anyway...
